Guests Have to Say
We had a wonderful week in a one-bedroom Niau cottage, overlooking pasture, forest and the ocean in the background. A very friendly host welcome took us to our well-appointed cottage... lots of extra touches like picnic basket, binoculars, thermos, knee rugs etc were great. An excellent location not too far from the historic area and a brisk 30 min walk to the shops ( 5 min drive) if you're that way inclined.Coast gets our vote as the place to stay on Norfolk......and thanks for the included car and the airport pickup.

Have just returned home from a week's stay at Routi House. Could not fault it. Perfect setting with a large verandah looking over rolling hills dotted with Norfolk pines. Cattle and horses grazing in the paddock. Could just see the ocean in the distance but could hear the crashing waves. Two separate bedrooms with their own bathroom and toilet made it a perfect spot for 2 couples. Fully self contained and very well equipped. As previously mentioned in an earlier review - snorkel gear, a picnic set, games, beach towels are all included. A gas heater in the lounge area and a washing machine were welcome additions. A hire car was waiting for us when we arrived at Routi House and this was included in the cost for the accommodation. Mareeva patiently answered all my questions before…

Perfect location for a relaxing get away. Probably a 7 minute to the township. Great accommodation - clean and well designed - highly recommend. Semi rural setting - visited by roosters and horses. Great communal area.

We were warmly welcomed and had a seamless checkin with our hire car (included) waiting for us.
Rahooloo Cottage was perfect for two senior solos traveling together. Each room had their own toilet. Thoughtful extras like a picnic basket, Eski and snorkeling equipment made it a very special place to stay. Comfortable and spacious with wonderful views and a location at the end of a quiet lane, so very little passing traffic and only a few mins drive into town. Roads are narrow, hilly and cow strewn, hence the 40km speed limit so not within walking distance to town, but one of the best locations on the island to drive down to Emily Bay and the historic area.

My husband and I just had 8 nights at Coast in the Rahooloo Cottage. The cottage was extremely well equipped with everything you need, including a washing machine, pegs and clothes airer,a well stocked picnic basket, snorkels and goggles, beach towels and a phone and car.
The cottage has spectacular views towards the south and Phillip Is. We had a resident kingfisher sitting in the tree everyday as well as roosters, cows and horses popping along to say hello. As mentioned by others, there was a mossie or two the first night, all the windows were open to allow for the lovely breeze including 2 without screens, so we kept those closed, and found a plug in mossie repeller and repeller mats that had been left by someone. No more mossies.

Husband and 8 had 7 nights in a one bedroom apartment (Unit1). Very well appointed with. Huge window to look out to the lush green garden and a long balcony to relax on as well. Other units didnt have the window bit as we were at the end of the row this was a bonus. Unit had lots of spare towels if needed, kitchen had everything required if you wanted to eat in (except a vegetable peeler). Host supplied a local phone with $5 credit which was really handy when making any bookings and also to phone home to NSW if you wanted.
BBQ area had a lovely boathouse style enclosed and covered area to eat in with all necessary BBQ items. Past visitors leave any leftover groceries here to be used which was helpful. Didnt have to buy tomato sauce!
Car supplied was all that was required to get around the island.

We loved it and couldn't fault it. Beautiful country side with rolling pine clad hills to the sea. Our accommodation was the best! Our host was great.. our Niau cottage was comfortable and it had everything we needed. The scenery spectacular! The cows and horses around us a plus. Beautiful sunrises from our deck.. Starry skies, the sound of waves crashing in the distance and roosters crowing early morning made for a very memorable holiday.. We have both said we would love to go back for longer next time.

Perfect spot to rest up and do nothing, or go out and do heaps. The unit had everything you could need. Including a perfect view, and verandah to sit and relax. I found the bed very comfortable. Good laundry facilities. Quiet and pretty location. Everything you could need for use, in the boatshed. Outdoor barbie and equipment. Bikes. You name it. Far enough out of town but very handy for everything. Nice just to be a bit out of the town with great surrounds. Cows, horses, birds, chooks . Lovely walking areas. Loved it.

Wow what a lovely spot, the view was stunning. Wonderful lodges. Very well designed and constructed. Nothing was too much trouble. Included use of a hire car. Central Wifi could have been extended more. Fully equipped kitchen. No AC. But temperatures lovely.

We stayed at the 2 level 2 room Rahooloo at the Coast. Wonderful views, easy location (close to town and close to Kingston/Emily Bay), has all you need for a great stay. Highly recommend Rahooloo at the Coast.
